Course Overview

Reflex Integration in Paediatric OT: Science, Myths & Practice

Take your clinical reasoning to the next level with this thought-provoking session for paediatric OTs. A valuable space for debate, reflection, and advancing ethical, evidence-based clinical practice.

Course Objectives:
  1. Understand the role of primitive reflexes in early neurological and motor development.
  2. Examine the current neuroscience on reflex integration—what is known, what is speculative, and what remains unclear.
  3. Differentiate between evidence-based developmental approaches and controversial or non-validated interventions.
  4. Discuss the clinical implications of using reflex integration techniques in OT practice.
  5. Explore alternative, evidence-based interventions that target motor control, sensory processing, and functional outcomes.
