Description

The OT Link is excited to welcome Bhavna Bahgoo [MSc (OT)]. 

Bhavna has over 10 years experience in the clinical and academic arenas. Her clinical experience spans a variety of settings including public hospital, NGO and private practice work. She has good experience in treating psychiatric, neurological and physical impairments and has also been involved in driving assessments, functional capacity evaluations and return-to-work.  She is passionate about the Vona du Toit Model of Creative Ability, and specifically its implementation in the physical field.  Bhavna’s Masters dissertation was titled “Implementation of mirror therapy for upper limb motor function in stroke survivors on two levels of creative ability.” She is also the lead author of a chapter titled “Stoke and Creative Ability” in the recently released “Perspectives on the Vona du Toit Model of Creative Ability: Practice, theory, philosophy.” A second chapter is underway exploring Creative Ability pertaining to Spinal Cord Injury to be released in the second edition.  Bhavna currently lectures undergraduate and postgraduate Occupational Therapy students at The University of the Witwatersrand, predominantly in the fields of physical and neurological rehabilitation and is well positioned to share cutting edge intervention research and evidence-based practice. Bhavna is a committed, passionate OT who serves as Co-chair and CPD coordinator on the OTASA SG Branch committee. She is also a board member of the Vona and Marie Du Toit Foundation.
