FCE Think Tank: Navigating the LSEN Landscape

Course Overview

This course includes a Video Presentation and a recording of the Discussion at the LIVE Think Tank session that ran in August 2025.
FCE Think Tank focuses on medico-legal, insurance, and vocational rehabilitation settings. Each session features expert presenters sharing the latest insights on requested topics. Designed as an interactive online meeting, this webinar encourages group discussion, critical analysis, and practical clinical application.
 

Course Objectives

  • This session will focus on the preparation process and the skills needed for LSEN Learners to progress from School to Work.
  • Learn about inclusive education and its impact on LSEN learners.
  • Understand the challenges faced by LSEN learners.
  • Explore strategies to support LSEN learners in school and life.
  • Learn how to prepare LSEN learners for work readiness.
  • Use practical tools to plan interventions for LSEN learners.

Format

  • 2 video presentations (~2 hours)
  • MCQs.

Accredited for 2 CLINCIAL CEUs.

The OT Link is proud to bring you FCE Think Tank, a discussion group chaired by Robyn Hunter and presented by guest speakers.

 

This month we welcome:

Isabel Burger [B.OT (UP), PG Dip Voc Rehab (UP)]

Isabel completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Pretoria in 2013. She completed the PG diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation at the University of Pretoria in 2024. Isabel has clinical experience in a variety of paediatric settings and varied conditions. She also has experience in vocational rehabilitation and medicolegal work. She is currently working in an LSEN school environment.

 

Anya van Rooyen [B OT (UP) M. OT (UP)]

Anya completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Pretoria in 2017 and is currently completing her Master’s in Occupational Therapy. Her work history is as a school-based therapist. She has a special interest in education, paediatrics, psychiatry, pre-vocational rehabilitation and geriatrics. She is currently working in an LSEN school environment.
