This month we welcome:
Natalie Powell
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational therapy at Wits in 2001 and completed the advanced Diploma in Hand Therapy from University of Pretoria in 2003. She completed the advanced Diploma in Voc Rehab in 2008. At the start of her career she worked as a Junior Occupational Therapist at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital from 2002 until 2004, where she worked in Adult Physical Rehab seeing adult neurology and spinal cases, burn wounds and upper limb pathology as well as supervising students. She then started working as a private practitioner in 2004. Her practice is based at a multi-disciplinary centre with a dynamic team of therapists including physiotherapy, orthotist/prosthetist and speech therapy. The practice treats the following injuries: soft tissue and orthopaedic trauma, upper limb neurology, repetitive strain injuries, burns and scar management, upper limb amputations and chronic pain, oncology patients, primary and secondary lymphoedema. In addition, Natalie does pre-discharge Workplace assessment and placement and Functional Capacity Evaluations.
