This month’s topic is FCE AND FITNESS TO DRIVE.

This course will review the assessment of driving and fitness to drive in the context of an FCE and return to work.

The OT Link is proud to bring you FCE Think Tank, a discussion group chaired by Robyn Hunter and presented by guest speakers.

This month we welcome:

Lizette Swanepoel

She completed her Bachelor in Radiography and then her Bachelor in Occupational Therapy from University of Pretoria in 1997 and 2001 respectively. She completed a Masters in Occupational Therapy in Vocational Rehabilitation from Stellenbosch University in 2015.

Lizette is the occupational therapy manager at USebenza Assessment Centre and a part-time lecturer in neurology and vocational rehabilitation at the University of Stellenbosch. Her clinical work includes medico-legal and insurance related evaluations, work evaluations and driving evaluations.  Her research at USebenza focused on driving rehabilitation and establishing driving rehabilitation services in occupational therapy in South Africa. She has a special interest in driving rehabilitation following traumatic brain injury.​ She is also the chairperson of the Driver Fitness Coalition (DFC) which is a NPC and operates as a Voluntary association and an OTASA special interest group with the vision of working together to advance the field of driving and community mobility intervention in Southern Africa.
