Summary of the article

It is theorized that behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia are directly influenced by sensory imbalance and improved by sensory equilibrium. Therefore, this review aimed to investigate the efficacy and application of multisensory environments as intervention for the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. It also identifies important gaps in knowledge and offers recommendations for improving future investigations into multisensory environments, as well as other environmental interventions.
