About the Presenter

Description

The OT Link is excited to welcome Alison Camp to present Coffee Club.

Alison graduated with a B.OT from UKZN in 1994. She went on to complete her Masters Degree in Neuroscience at WITS University in 2015. Her research report explored “The Responsive and relevance of the Activity Participation Outcome Measure (APOM) in patients with traumatic brain injury in acute neurological rehabilitation settings”. She has completed basic and advanced bobath courses in upper limb management, Ataxia and TBI. She has also completed her advanced level seating certification with the Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre.

She has remained passionate about the assessment, treatment and comprehensive management required for people who have suffered neurological fallout via any means including dementia related causes. This includes both paeds and adults, however her life work has focused on adults primarily.

From 2015 to date, on completing her masters, she joined a small group of like-minded therapists at Hillcrest Private Hospital in Hillcrest where she formed a trans-disciplinary team treating acute patients from the ICU phase of recovery through acute rehabilitation and back into the community including work reintegration. The patient type includes all neurological conditions and complex medical conditions. She also highly values the integration of pain management science and principles in her  therapy working with acute phase neurological patients of all diagnoses.
