Description

Helen Roome  an Occupational Therapist offering online therapy to people living with persistent pain and fatigue. Her expertise in these fields builds on over 25 years of broad clinical experience in adult physical and psychiatric rehabilitation in acute and chronic settings; as well as a post-graduate diploma in Interdisciplinary Pain Management.

Helen is the Chairperson of the OT Pain Management group of SA (OTPMG) and sits on the allied health practitioners committee of the South African Society for Sleep and Health (SASSH).

Helen has a special interest in central sensitization syndromes, such as Fibromyalgia, and co-facilitates a Fibromyalgia support group with someone living with the condition. 

She also recently published a book to guide people living with pain to self-manage called “Your pain playbook – effective daily strategies for life beyond pain”.

Above all, Helen is a wife and mom who really tries to practice what she preaches – so you’ll find her in the garden on the weekend and behind an easel in the holidays!
