Summary of article:

Research has found limited evidence on the best way to evaluate CBR programmes. This research conducted feedback with parents, staff members and managers of a South African early childhood development programme about the use of evaluation. Data analysis was conducted using Grounded theory. The research found that evaluation of CBR programmes should foster active participation, collect accurate and credible information, build local capacity and foster sustainable partnerships. Other factors to consider were sensitivity to the impact of culture and that a flexible model is useful during data collection.
