Practical Psych Session

I really enjoyed Rulaine's insight with regards to the real contexts that we face every day within psychiatric facilities. The revolving door admissions are a massive problem and I found it very helpful to gain practical tips on how to combat this through involving families.

  1. Hi
I would like to add a question to the discussion –
When based at a healthcare institution (clinic/hospital etc.), how can we participate in re-orienting mental health care services to be community-based? How do you initiate this? I’m finding it difficult to have the time and local resources to make this a priority as a community service OT at a district hospital.
    Thanks!
