Objectives of this course

After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define trauma-informed care.
  2. Describe the impact of traumatising medical procedures and admissions on children.
  3. Discuss the ethics of care around the necessity for painful procedures and how they should be carried out.
  4. Describe techniques therapists could use to reduce the trauma experience for children.
