On completion of this CPD activity, the participant will be able to:
- List and define the available neurorehabilitation techniques in the treatment of the UE post-stroke
- Discuss the efficacy of these various techniques
- Select evidence-based approaches relative to client characteristics for use in rehabilitation using the decisional tree.
Summary of the article:
This article reviews each of the neurorehabilitation techniques that may be useful in promoting upper extremity motor recovery post-stroke. A decisional tree according to the patient’s characteristics is proposed to guide clinical reasoning in selecting appropriate treatment techniques to be used in rehabilitation.
