Objectives of this course
On completion of this CPD activity, the participant will be able to:
- Explain the terms “habit formation” and “automaticity”.
- Describe the relationship between habit formation, automaticity and mental health intervention.
- Improve their understanding of the timing of habit formation and automaticity.
- Describe the psychoneurobiological underpinnings (with specific reference to gamma activity, telomere length, and prolactin levels) of mental health challenges.
- Discuss the changes that occur in gamma activity, telomere length, and prolactin levels during the process of habit formation and automaticity.
- Implement practical strategies to improve interventions and achieve sustainable outcomes for mental health challenges.
